What makes someone an artist?

Choice. If you look inside and find Art lurking there, chances are you're an artist. I choose to refer to myself that way; I was formally trained in performance art, focusing on singing and acting but long before then, I was sewing, drawing, painting, crafting, sculpting, writing, designing and too many more forms to mention. Art has always been within me and will always be a part of my identity.

Can just anyone be an artist?

Yes. The beauty of art, is that every single one of us has the potential to create.

Some people don't seem to be very creative, can they be artists too?

Ha ha, that's true, yes some of us are wired more for logic, science or sport, but there can be logic in art, there is an art to science and sport and art are not so very different beasts.

How do you know when you've found what 'your art' is?

To be honest, some people never actually define a specific art-form that speaks to them. For those of us that do, it can feel like the long cold drink down a thirsty throat, clean sheets after a tiring day or that conversation where you understand each other; something in you just... clicks, and you know.
